April Love Note: The Power of Prayer

April Love Note

Welcome to April! I grew up with Mom’s refrain of, “April showers bring May flowers,” but in Wisconsin, that was more of a hope, not a promise. Sometimes, it still snowed in May.  So, there’s your insight on how I landed on ‘prayer’ for this month’s topic. 😉

Review of Our Recent Journey

Because a WHOLE LOT is going on, let’s review where we’ve been focusing in the past three months of 2025… yes, it’s only been three months.

January’s focus was a balanced approach to your life with the four elements. February’s invitation was to actively engage with Rest. In March, we dedicated ourselves to finding Joy. For April, it’s time to direct your energetic prayers to plant seeds of transformation.

Saturday, March 28th, closed the 2024-25 Aries-Libra eclipse cycle. How you balance creative initiatives, defining yourself, and expressing yourself authentically and with integrity will unfold over the next 18 months. Prayer is one way to ensure your transformation stays within your desired scope.

Why Pray?

The energetic seeds we plant via prayer today become the sustenance we create and harvest in our future.

Our worlds are amazingly ‘full’ today. You’re lucky to even know where the ‘you are here’ mark is. The daily map shifts from compelling to demanding to overwhelming. Too often, you only get a few moments a day when you close your eyes, soften your breath, and drop into your heart—this is where you can feel your very real connection with your larger essence and The Sacred.

Prayer is a way to plant the seeds from the depths of your heart into your consciousness and connect that longing, the knowing of possibilities, with the Divine or Spirit.

Our prayers carry the energetic encoding for guidance and blessings to find their way to us. Prayers affirm our power of renewal and growth; it is one way we speak our faith, truth, and gratitude into existence.

Prayer is the perfect companion to Meditation. The yin to its yang. Communicate to speak your heart’s truth while remaining open to your guidance.

What is Prayer?

Paraphrasing a quote often attributed to St. Francis of Assisi’s teachings says, “Pray at all times, when necessary, use words.”

Prayer takes many forms and shapes. It is: creating, questioning, cooking, gardening, coloring, healing, silence, speaking, yoga, dancing, laundry, crying, singing, doubting, apologizing, and my most frequently practiced: surrendering… not in abdication, but in faith.

You can memorize a prayer handed down through generations or a favorite poem or hymn. I carry many of those in my heart and am supported by them daily.

And I invite you to consider all the ways we pray, here are a few I hear often:

  • Let me get this job/love/healing.
  • Help my beloved child/family member/friend/co-worker.
  • Why did I say that/do that? Forgive me.
  • Why did ‘they’ get that opportunity and not me

We may not think of that last one as a prayer, but how is it not?

Anytime you fuel directed thoughts or words with your essence while invoking something greater than youis that not prayer?

I invite you to create your own connection with your Power of Prayers. With this specific view of your personal power and connection to the Sacred, how will you practice, play, create, and cultivate your connection?

Developing new habits becomes easier when you ‘pair’ with something you already do regularly.

To Infuse the Mundane with the Sacred:

Bring your hands to your heart, breathe gently into your belly, close your eyes, and feel what comes forth:

  • Before a meal
  • After you shower and begin your day
  • Before you leave to drop off/pick up your child
  • Before you make that challenging call
  • Before you respond to a problematic email or text
  • As you clean up from a meal
  • Before you get into bed

How I Pray

Two forms of prayer I work with daily are Spirit Work and Tarot; both are paired with meditation—of course Connecting with the Divine using the two powerful tools altered the course of my life completely, which is why I am passionate about teaching these sacred rituals to you. Everything in this world and beyond is connected. Tuning into a higher frequency in order to truly see and feel this connection was not a difficult task once I learned to access Divine Harmony dependably through sacred tools. My life became an easier flow, filled with more elegance and graceful engagement with Spirit and Earth School.

I’m eternally grateful for these gifts, the guidance, the healing, the humility, and the faith they brought into my life. It is my honor and blessing to share them with you.
